Literacy Lives offers client-tailored literary solutions that include product creation, ghostwriting, book editing and formatting, resumes, cover letters, professional booklets, and more. JoVonna Rodriguez founded Literacy Lives in 2012.

From 2010 to 2012, JoVonna spent her time turning her personal journals into several books of poetry and prose releasing Pronouns (2010) and Love Taps: Mynes (2012).  In 2011, Literacy Lives edited a compilation of writing from Ms. Rodriguez’ students entitled, What’s Next. It was during this time of creation that Literacy Lives was born. One of the first major projects included working with Brandon Frame’s non-profit The Black Man Can, Inc. with the creation of their signature journal. The Define Yourself, Redefine the World, A Guided Journal for Boys and Men of Color was released in 2012 and 2014.

Since then, Literacy Lives has provided writing, editing, and formatting services on a variety of projects including poetry, student collections, financial literacy journals, workbooks, resumes, dossiers, and more. In 2015, as schools were instituting new technology standards, Literacy Lives created the 1:1 device brochure for parents and the Redefining Learning Conference brochure for a major school district in Atlanta, GA.

The partnership increased clients from the educational sector, helping to carve out Literacy Lives signatures. The company is known for their signature resume which includes a curated professional document specific to the client’s career in order path to maximize potential. Literacy Lives successfully completed 200+ resumes, 25+ book projects, and supported the completion of 10+ college degrees.

Outside of Literacy Lives, JoVonna is an avid writer, reader, and works in education. She holds a Specialist in Instructional Technology from Kennesaw University, Master’s in Teaching Middle Grades Math and Social Studies from Mercer University, Bachelor of Arts in History and Education from Emory University, and an Associates in Arts from Oxford College of Emory University.
